Always my fried- Field of Flowers

Ok so final project of the week. Anyone who knows me knows that generally flowers are not my thing. So I very rarely buy any DSP (designer series paper aka pretty paper)that has flowers on it. So for this card I wanted to use some sort of DSP or something for the background but since I didn’t have any I decided to make my own.

The flower images in this set are perfect for making your own background. Of course I also challenged myself with colors that I don’t usually use and this time I focused on the current In Colors: Bumblebee and Misty Moonlight.

This sentiment is great as well for that friend that is always there for you or that you just need to send a card to. Of course you can always change the colors to suit what they like as well. So what colors would you make it in and who would you send it to?

Always thinking of you- Field of Flowers

So who makes flowers without using at least some brighter colors? I mean most flowers are bright colors aren’t they? Of course I had to even just to give the card some pop. I did also use the punch because this stamp set comes with a punch and can be bought as a bundle saving 10%. Who doesn’t love a punch?

Anyway this punch is great because it can either be used to add some depth and texture to a card by using the flowers like I have or it can be used as a border punch or even use the punched out flowers as part of a shaker card.

What I do love about this set is that it does work for so many different color combinations and the sentiments work for lots of different situations. So is this a set that you like? Would you add it to your stash?

Always…- Field of Flowers

This week I am focusing on the Field of Flowers bundle. This isn’t normally a set I would go for but for some unknown reason it jumped out at me.

So today’s card I went for simple stamping. Something that is easy to make involves only ink, stamps and paper. I also challenged myself to use a color that I practically never use. So for this card I used Merry Merlot. It is part of the neutrals collection and something that just never jumps out at me. I am definitely a more of a brighter colors girl.

So what are you? Do you prefer bright colors, the more subtle colors, neutral colors or do you go for the rich warm tones of the regals?

Wiper Card- Whale Done!

It is Friday which means a fun fold or in this case an interactive card.

I recently made a wiper card for another occasion and while making it realised that it would be perfect for a card using the Whale of a Time Suite!

I love that the DSP that is part of the suite makes the perfect underwater scene. Plus a punch that cuts out the whale is just the cherry on top with this suite!

Oh yeah and it folds completely flat for posting! What do you think? Do you enjoy making interactive cards?

Thanks a Ton- Whale of a Time

I love that this suite has a coordinating stamp set and punch. I am a big fan of punches. They make cards easy but fabulous!

Today’s card is a great thank you card with of course a fabulous pun! All that was needed was a punch, some ink and some cardstock! With this card I also did some second stamping. It gives the seaweed a second color. So stamp once and then stamp again without reinking.

Of course don’t forget to stamp the inside of the card even if it is just a school of fish.

I will definitely be making some more of these, perfect for a quick thank you card for anyone!

Birthday Fishes- Whale of a Time

This week I am using the Whale of a Time Suite. I love this suite because guess what it has fun puns! This suite also makes making cards so easy and fun. The 6×6 DSP has great images and colors and goes perfectly with the stamp/punch bundle!

While flipping through the pack of DSP the school of fish jumped out at me and I knew I had to make a card with it. Plus it goes perfectly with the fish pun stamp!

All that it needed was a small bit of ribbon to give it some more color and then the new double oval punch to give it some more depth. So quick and easy and perfect for a birthday card for anyone!

Shaker Card- Oh Snap!

For this card I wanted to make something interactive. My first idea just wouldn’t work no mater what I tried but that is ok because it led me to make a shaker card with a similar idea. I wanted to make a card where it looked like the crocodile was eating some fish. This shaker card does just that.

I do love shaker cards they are so fun and entertaining! Plus instead of coloring the crocodile I decided to use a piece of dsp to give him some color. Anyway I think I have babbled enough about it! Let me know what you think! Do you prefer interactive cards like shaker cards or those that are more simple?

Oh Snap it’s your birthday!- Oh Snap!

I love a cute animal and a good pun. It was perfect for a friend’s birthday card! What I love about the sentiment in this card is that it can also fit if you forget a birthday or are sending this late.

For this project I also tried a technique new for me. I made the background using my blending brushes. It was my first time trying this and I am quite pleased how it turned out. Might have to get more adventurous and try making some more backgrounds.

So what do you think? Are you the fan of animal stamps? Do you like puns?

Inside says: It’s your birthday!

Hello Friend!- Oh Snap

This week I am focusing on the Oh Snap! stamp set. Anyone who knows me knows that I love puns and this set has a few.

Today’s card is a very simple one. While I was sitting at my desk getting inspired my mini me informed me that she wanted to find a penpal to start writing to. At that moment I looked at the stamp set and noticed the sentiment Hello Friend! It then hit me to make a simple card that would be perfect to send to any friend just to say hello! What is great is that this card can be made with any colors. So it is not only quick and easy to make but it is also really easy to change to suit the person you are sending it to.

Who can’t like the cute little frog?!?
