So at the beginning of each new year people always have a New Years Resolution that they never stick. Sometimes you hear of people choosing a word to focus on for that entire year, sometimes they do but more forget. Well I am neither of those people. I never have a resolution or a new word but if you haven’t noticed lately I seem to have adopted a word despite it being June, that word is challenge. I just keep finding yet something else that is new and challenges me.
My latest one is joining in another blog hop but this time a much larger one! This blog hop is with the larger team that I am a part of. I am having so much fun trying new things and being part of these blog hops and with this one I have tried a technique that I have always struggled with. Anyway the theme of this blog hop is New Catalogue/New Products.
When I saw the theme I knew exactly what set I wanted to use and that was the Over the Moon stamp set. I mean look at these cows how could you not love them, plus the punny phrases!
Anyway so I wanted to try to find a way to use them all and I just couldn’t figure out a way. So I started looking through techniques and decided to try something that I have never found easy and that is inking and sponging a background. So I pulled out a BUCKET load of inks and just started going at it. I know it is nothing fancy but I am proud of it and that is what is important isn’t it.
Anyway let me know what you think of it and check out the other members of the team I am part of!
So with the new catalogue release comes new goodies, some of which include new Designer Series Paper (dsp)! Well there is some gorgeous new dsp that I just can’t wait to get my hands on.
Of course when it arrives I will love it so much that I won’t want to use it but I now get the DSP in and chop it ready to be used. However the storage becomes an issue. Therefore I now use the clear and wood mount stamp cases. I needed to make some sort of inserts to go into the cases so I know what is in them so I have made inserts for the new DSP! If you would like them simply click here!
Hope you like them. Remember if you have any retired DSP or Memories and More packs or anything you would like to store in any of our stamp cases let me know and I can get an insert made for you.
So today is a bit of a different post. This year I have decided to try different things when it comes to my crafting to challenge me. My latest challenge is to join a Blog Hop with other crafters. The idea is that we each pick a project from the other crafters’ pages and share them with all of you. Therefore without further adieu:
Karen Varley at Donemark Papercrafts. She used thew new Bird Ballad set as a sneak peak to the new catalogue. It is a lovely project!
Next up is Louise Dwyer at Salterfen Papercrafts. The set used is a set that made the cut and is carrying over to the new catalogue!
Tina Ehlich at Tina’s Kreativ Box created this lovely project. When it comes to papercrafting it is not just cards and scrapbook and Tina has shown that it so much more by making this gorgeous bag!
Janice Thomson at Jazzle Dazzle. Janice created this fab men’s card using the Geared Up Garage set.
Then last but not least Jannie va Beelen This fab bag in a card projects is so cute and a different way of making a card.
Anyway I hope you like my choices and like seeing what other crafters are making. It has definitely given me a bit of inspiration!
I can’t believe it is June already! With June comes the exciting time of the new catalogue launch (June 4th!)! Now anyone who knows me knows that I am terrible at waiting for things, so thankfully as a demonstrator I get to do a preorder and get some of the new goodies before the catalogue is launched. This year I didn’t get much but a few items were ordered, whoops!
Anyway, one of the sets that I ordered was the set A Good Man. I don’t know about you but I always struggle with men’s cards so I challenged myself to get this set and make some cards for men.
Once it arrived I sat there for ages and I couldn’t come up with anything. So I started off with just stamping the stamps on some scrap cardstock and color it in with the blends. Once I started doing that cards just kept appearing! I couldn’t believe how I just kept making cards! I just hope this flow continues!
Anyway here is one of the cards that I managed to make. It would make a great Fathers’ Day Card or even a card for a big brother or any male figure that made you feel loved while growing up.
To make this card I used the following materials:
Night of Navy Cardstock
Whisper White Cardstock
Come Sail Away designer series paper
A Good Man Stamp Set
Memento Black Ink
Granny Apple Green Blends Combo Pack
Night of Navy Blends Combo Pack
Crumb Cake Blends Combo Pack
Lovely Lipstick Blends Combo Pack
Light Pool Party Blend
Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue
I hope you like this card! I really enjoyed making it and I can’t wait to show you the rest! So keep an eye on here for more cards. Let me know what you think!
So as most people know I run a monthly card class, a schedule I have to say is growing as more classes are being added! I also then sell the products used to make any of my projects and more! However one thing that not everyone knows is that I also take orders for cards and other gift projects.
I love working on orders because it gets me to step out of my comfort zone sometimes. Plus it is also like being set a challenge and when it comes to crafting I love participating in challenges.
Well for these two cards I was asked to make two birthday cards for women. I was given the prompts yellow and flowers for one of them and purple for the second. I had some ideas and thankfully the cards practically made themselves.
They were so fun to make and I absolutely love how they turned out. I really didn’t want to hand them over, I wanted to keep them for my stash. I think I might have to remake them just so I can have them in my stash for future occasions!
Oh by the way excuse the photography I had forgotten to take pictures until I was literally about to walk out the door to deliver them so they aren’t the best.
I love this cute little koala! Another reason I love making card orders is that it gives me the opportunity to use products that have retired and one of them was the Koala stamp set. I am always so sad when I see cute sets retiring because I love them so much and I feel they can be used for so many different occasions. Oh well, he is still staying and will definitely be appearing again!
This second card was a step out of my comfort zone, it involved flowers! It is not that I don’t like flowers, I do…well some flowers, but for crafting I never seem to use them. Thankfully I am beginning to step out of my comfort zone and am getting use to using flowers. I actually enjoyed this card, the colors are so bright and I love things like spots and stripes!
Anyway, I hope you like the cards. Let me know what you think! Also show me what you have been making!
So this past week one of our assistant coaches has been doing some exams. She has been so worried about them and none of us could do anything. Therefore I thought hard about what I could do and it came to me, Why not some brain food goodies! Therefore I thought about different tutorials I have seen and projects I have made and decided to come up with these great projects for this week. The poor girl has a total of 13 exams across a couple of weeks. Therefore more projects will be coming!
Oh my goodness I love this new cow stamp set (Over the Moon). Anyone who knows me knows that I love cute stamp sets that feature animals or quirky puns and this set was one I definitely had to have. I love playing with it and there are definitely a bunch of projects to come using it! Anyone who loves animals will have to get their hands on this once the new catalogue is live on June 4th!
Sometimes all you need is a simple little box to hold a little sweet. This project uses another soon to be retired set Amazing Lift as well as a retiring color: Lemon Lime Twist. This is a color that I am going to miss! I can’t believe it is leaving. Hopefully it will make a come back!
When it comes to projects sometimes it is ok for them to not use any sort of adhesive and this just happened to be one of them. This was originally designed for tea bags but that isn’t very good brain food so Haribo sweets instead! The dsp is REALLY retired, I can’t even remember the name and the stamp set is from Take out Treats
It is usually easy to make something for giant sweets as in a full size chocolate bar because you can easily just wrap them or put them in a box or a a bag but a treat size Wispa is a different story. This little project has a small little pocket that just holds the little Wispa bar perfectly!
Sometimes when it comes to chocolate goodies and exams all you need is a normal sized chocolate bar that is what the last project is. A simple Chocolate Bar Slider project. I love making these projects because they are so cool. You don’t untie the ribbon at the top you just pull it and out slides a chocolate bar! Even though I have made quite a few of them I still love making them and love just seeing the chocolate bar slide out. All the products in this project are all retired!
Anyway I hope you like all these projects. There will be more to come, especially since she still has more exams to come! Keep your eyes peeled!
Let me know if you have made anything lately especially if they are any goodies!
So the Butterfly Duet Bundle seems to be the most popular bundle and set of products this year. It keeps selling out and going on back order. Good news though…..it is back in stock!
Now both the bundle or the punch can be ordered….as well as the stamp set of course! A few projects will be coming using this bundle. So if you want it get it fast before it sells out again! Bundle Punch Stamp
